TVD 2.20
Another quick review as I don’t have time for a full one.
This episode was actually kind of dull until the last like ten minutes.
I’m glad Alaric is okay! I think I think he’s hot because he kind of looks a little like Indiana Jones.
I can’t believe Damon made Elena drink his blood! …okay I really can totally believe it. But seriously, another magical elixir/dues ex machina to save the day? Even Damon is tired of it.
The Elena/Stefan story just kind of dragged it. I think it’s because for most of this season their relationship has been second (or third) to the other storylines and characters, and now that they’re trying to make it the focus again it’s a little slow.
We do learn that Elena is really upset at the prospect of being a vampire. She wants to age and have a family and being a vampire means she can’t do that. But then how does she plan on remaining with Stefan? It’s Bella’s nightmare all over again.
Tyler is duped back into town to be kidnapped, with Caroline as part of Klause’s ritual as well. Damon rescues them to save Elena, only to find out that Klause had kidnapped Jules as well.
And the part of the necessary vampire will be played by Jenna. Which is cruel and horrible.
Matt doesn’t want to keep duping Caroline, and saves Damon from being killed even though the Sheriff wants Damon dead and Caroline alive to give them information. As Damon rescues them the truth comes out to Caroline that Matt knows and to Matt that Tyler is a werewolf.
I feel better now that everyone knows.
Conspicuously we didn’t see Jeremy or Bonnie.
Next week wasn’t advertised as the season finale, but this sure felt like a lead up to one.
