I’m really tired so sorry if this is incoherent.
ALARIC IS HOT. …being tired makes me shallow, I guess.
Klause wants Elijah to stay dead. Katherine tells him to kill her, that she’s told him everything. He wants to know what the others may be keeping from her. He compels her to tell him more. He says his death is going to last at least half as long as her life.
She stabs herself with a knife as he tells her to. Tells her to do it over and over while he’s away.
The Big Bad on this show really is bad.
Elena signs papers on the Salvatore house with Bonnie as a witness.
Damon and Stefan discussing Klause. And Katherine. Think he killed her.
Heh, Salvatores can’t come inside house. Elena invites in Stefan, and Elena makes Damon promise not to be a Damon-shaped tool in the future. He reluctantly agrees.
Elena goes to school, but the Salvatores don’t want her to. Stefan seems to go to school too.
Matt goes to the Sheriff. He’s all freaked that she doesn’t know he knows. Sheriff needs some time. She doesn’t have anyone to trust.
Elena wants to go to the ‘60s dance. Stefan doesn’t. Heh, class is studying the ‘60s, and Alaric has no idea. Come on, guys, realize he isn’t him!
School getting together to decorate for the dance. Caroline all happy, Matt trying to not be weird.
Jeremy and Bonnie. She insists on doing the spell, Jeremy still freaked. Ick, Jeremy is stuck with John at their house. Jenna is still on campus.
Girl tells Elena a dude named “Klause” wants to go to the dance with her. She was compelled so doesn’t know anything else.
Damn, Alaric can enter the Salvatore house. Oh, this is freaky.
Damon runs a test on Bonnie, and she knocks him flat.
This is not good!
Klause and Katherine. He needs to kill Bonnie. He finds Alaric’s stash of weapons. His minion suggests using Alaric’s body to keep provoking Bonnie till she kills herself. Minion says he can do a spell to protect Alaric’s body.
Caroline and her mom, Caroline all decked out like Jackie O. Matt dressed as JFK. Poor Caroline.

Damon cuts in with Bonnie, wants to know if she can help them without dying.
So Elena and Jeremy wind up together. Romantic!

Stefan confronts Damon about the Bonnie thing.
Elena tells her she can’t do it. Bonnie wants to help.
Jeremy gets jumped by compelled guys. Who have wooden stakes and shoot Damon and Stefan!
Shit, Alaric separates Bonnie and Elena from everyone else and smiles an evil grin.
Elena getting suspicious, Bonnie wants to know where Jeremy is. Klause acting not like Alaric. Elena asks if he’s on vervane. Then guesses he’s being compelled. He comes clean: “I am not Alaric.”
God he’s so creepy.
He says he doesn’t want to kill Elena tonight, and looks at Bonnie. She uses her power to slam her into the lockers. Then the trophy case.
The girls run away finally.
Damon finds them, immediately believes them that Klause is in Alaric. Damon wants her to break the protection spell on him, she’s freaked. If they kill Alaric Klause will possess someone else.
Klause with a knife. Bonnie twirls it so it stabs his hand. Then, what, dislocates his shoulder?
Damon tries to protect Bonnie from Elene and Stefan.
Bonnie continues to do a number on Klause.
Bonnie locks out Elena and Stefan and continues to use her powers. Her nose bleeds and the music gets all sad. Bonnie collapses and the storm stops.
They didn’t really just kill Bonnie, right? Right?
Damon orders Stefan and Elena away so he can clean up the mess.
Jeremy runs up to Damon, saying he can’t find anyone. Damon says they need to talk.
Elena in tears at the Salvatore house. Stefan gives her a drink.
Damon enters, Elena slaps him. He gets all serious. Then the camera cuts away as he tells the story.
Bonnie had to die, so that they can fight Klause—he had to believe she was dead.
Jeremy with Bonnie in the cellar of the ruins—Bonnie revives!!! She had cast a spell. She’s okay.
HEAVY ON THE DRAMA.
Stefan annoyed Damon didn’t tell him about the plan. Damon says he’ll be the bad guy and make the tough decisions while Stefan worries about collateral damage. And that at the end of the day, he’ll be the one to keep her alive.
Jeremy and Bonnie. He insists on staying with her. He sets up a video chat for her to talk to Elena.
Elena tells Damon she understands what he did. But she insists she will not let Bonnie die for her. She apologizes for hitting him. Damon says he will always choose Elena, no matter who has to die.
Elena goes to where Elijah still lays. And pulls out the dagger. WTF?
Next week, the voiceover says we don’t know the whole story, which is always true with this show, but he means about Klause, so next week will be his back story.
Well, at least they didn’t kill Bonnie. I was pretty worried there for a while. This show doesn’t kid around. Amazing what it’s become considering how slowly it started.

Damon was cracking me up during these scenes. Sometimes I hate him, sometimes I love him. The show can't live without him, though.
They didn’t really just kill Bonnie, right? Right?
Yeah, I was immediately suspicious. They can't just kill off a major character in a meaningless way. It would be a total waste of Bonnie's power and the 100 witches power thing if she had actually died. I would've been pissed with the show for giving her such a lame death.

Damon's right, though. Stefan was so useless during this episode. And neither of them could actually stay by Elena's side and prevent her from being kidnapped in the first place.

They are never in school. Wasn't Jeremy in Alaric's class last year? What history does he teach that the older kids would take it later?
Caroline did look really good. I just feel bad that her boyfriend and mother are betraying her. It's not like she wanted to be a vampire.
Damon really does swing from being loathsome and awesome. Within a single episode sometimes. It's kinda crazy.
Yeah, killy Bonnie would have been ridiculous, but the show has killed people before. That's the only reason I was partially believing it was real.
Stefan does have his moments of just being scenery. Pretty scenery, but still. And seriously, how did Elena get out of either of their sight?
So confused by that last scene. They'll tell us next week, but I don't wanna wait.
