TVD 2.15
Haven’t watched on Thursday in a long time.
Previously on is all Elena all the time. Then John Gilbert.
Elena reading a Gilbert journal, in which someone feels safe, but not really. After the burning of the church. The menfolk hear a noise outside and go investigate with the vampire compass. Which is malfunctioning. One dude disappears. Woman gets killed. Eek, it’s newlyvamped!Stefan! All bloody and evil.
Current Stefan skipping rocks. Damon calls him. Tells him Tyler left. “Yes, Stefan, I’ve become you. How tragic for both of us.” *Heart* them.
Elijah and Jenna. He tells her the founding families didn’t found anything, that the area was settled around Salem time. Jenna introduces Alaric as her friend. Elijah recognizes Alaric’s name as someone to protect.
Bonnie and Jeremy. Heh, he’s all excited about their kiss, she’s all thinking about the spell they did. Uh oh, Luka shows up. He was blacked out and knows Bonnie did something to him.
Elena and Stefan at odds. Stefan is so pissed at her. Then they talk about the Gilbert journals and the founding families. Stefan says they were angry at the founding families for what they did to Katherine. Elena upset Stefan described as “a monster.” He wants her to know the truth, from him.
Relished being a vampire at first. Kills many pretty young things. Damon horrified at Stefan because he knows they’ll get caught. Damon wants to leave town. Stefan promises to do better. The role reversal is so crazy. Stefan knew he had to “turn it off.” Says he was worse than Damon.
Damon and Alaric. News chick is there being all coupley with Damon. Jenna and Elijah show up. Damon hosts a dinner party.
Damon feeding Katherine in the tomb. Tells her John Gilbert is back. Katherine knows she is compelled to stay in the tomb, so Elijah is her only hope of ever getting out so he can’t kill him. Damon tells her about the dagger and ash. Katherine is truly terrified that she’ll be stuck in the tomb forever if Damon kills Elijah.
Back to Stefan and Elena, talking about killing and bloodlust. Humans were distracted from the vamps by the Civil War. Stefan really is a fright all covered in blood.
He follows a woman into the woods. It’s his friend Lexi. She goes to his home and refers to Stefan as a “ripper,” a bad part of being a vampire.
News girl and Jenna talking about Alaric. Jenna feels Alaric is hiding something from her. Damon and Alaric. Damon says the dinner is a “fact finding mission.” Alaric is worried about Jenna. Damon has his hand on Alaric’s shoulder and they are so cute together.
Damon prepares the dagger.
John Gilbert shows up. Unwelcome.
Bonnie and Jeremy. Jeremy has candled-up his home for her. Bonnie doesn’t want to do anything with Jeremy until she gets Elena’s okay. GAG.
Elijah is suspicious of Damon. And he says if Damon does anything he’ll kill everyone in the house.
Elijah tells the party the Salvatores didn’t settle Mystic Falls. And witches were on stakes and burned. He wants to know the location of the massacres. Hmm.
Elena reading, Stefan all stalking around. The journal has info on the Originals and the dagger and white oak. Ah, witches forged the dagger. It comes together. Elena wonders if the dagger exists, and Stefan tells her John gave it to Damon. But apparently only humans can use it because it will kill all “demons.” John is trying to get Damon killed.
Coldness between Alaric and Jenna, and John says it’s because he told her stuff about Isobel. He still wants his ring back. Alaric gets a call from Stefan.
Elijah asks Damon where the witch burial ground is. But won’t tell Damon why. Damon fingers the dagger but Alaric interrupts. Writes down that Damon can’t use it.
News girl wants to talk about Elijah’s work. Damon tells Elijah he doesn’t have to not kill John. Elijah is very no nonsense about needing Damon solely to protect Elena, and he consciously allows Elena to live her life.
Some chitchat then Alaric stabs Elijah! Goes all gray and wrinkly. Alaric tells Damon to get rid of him before Jenna comes back with dessert.
Elena and Stefan. She doesn’t like that he lied to her. Elena says it’s her life, but Stefan wants her to live through her life. He says she’s giving up, the way Lexi wouldn’t let him give up.
Lexi and Stefan, her telling him there’s a better way than turning off all his emotions. She tells him once he can hurt, he can love. Everything is intensified as a vampire. Stefan fought for his own survival. He wants Elena to fight for hers.
Damon and Alaric dragging Elijah to the cellar. Alaric tells Damon to stop lying or he’ll lose him (his only friend).
Back to Elena and Stefan. He tells her Elijah is dead, that Alaric did it. Elena reads that the dagger kills the aggressive vamp because it was seen as bad for vamps to kill each other. She then continues by saying that the dagger has to stay in place for him to remain dead. Stefan calls back Alaric but it’s too late—Elijah is at the warlock’s house.
Bonnie and Jeremy—why are they in this episode sloooooowing it down? Playing with fire. She explains “channeling.” She uses his body to channel.
Warlock enters, plasters Jeremy against the wall, casts a spell using Bonnie. Threatens her if Luka is hurt. Jeremy asks what happened, and she says he took her pounds? What?
Uh oh, Elijah at the lake house. Stefan hears him. Elijah throws rocks and knocks down the door. Elijah says he’ll wait them out even if he can’t get inside the house.
Elena says she’ll renegotiate with him. Elena says she’ll wound herself enough that Stefan will heal her with his blood and she’ll kill herself to become a vampire. She makes him promise not to harm anything she loves, even if they harm him. Elijah says he’s sorry. He calls her bluff.
She stabs herself in the leg! Or stomach. She makes him promise to keep his word if she lets him heal her. He agrees and she falls into his arms and stabs him! With the dagger!
Stefan does let her feed from him to heal her.
Damon is there, having brought the dagger. “Little tip: don’t pull the dagger out.”
Back to Jenna and Alaric. John has disappeared. Alaric starts to apologize, but then Jenna asks what happened to Isobel. He says he can’t say. Jenna says she can’t trust him. She asks if he’s being honest and he says nothing. She says that’s an answer, and walks away. John shows back up. Offers to clear up everything about Isobel. Alaric takes off the ring. Says John will need it more than he will after what he did to Damon.
Damon digs through Elijah’s jacket and finds the moonstone. Confirm that if the dagger stays in place Elijah stays dead.
Elena says if the boys want her to fight, she will. But they can’t keep stuff from her. Damon wonders how Stefan got through to her, and Stefan tells him about Lexi. Stefan asks if Damon remembers her. Silence from both brothers.
Flashback to Lexi meeting Damon. She tells him he doesn’t have his hate and feelings under control. He asks her to help Stefan, and she agrees.
Damon back home, news chick in the shower. Oh Jesus it’s Katherine. She knew that Damon would kill Elijah since she begged him not to, and because the Original who compelled her died, the compulsion wore off. She is such a good actress!! She offers to help him.
Ooo man a new door just opened in this show! I love this show. For all the slow times, they make up for it with the awesome.
Next week some Katherine/Elena interaction.
