Werewolves and vampires and witches, oh my!
Dead werewolves are dead, yikes. Lots of them from the battle with the Salvatores.
Werewolf Stevie talking about Mason and the moonstone and breaking the curse.
Sleepover with Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie. All in the same bed, kinda oddly. I wish my bed could fit three people. They are woken when Stefan calls.
Damon and the reporter chick. Gets information from her about Elijah. Damon compels her so she’ll think he’s “the one.” Ick.
Alaric over to Damon. Talk about dagger to stab Elijah. Needs ancient ashes.
Caroline and Bonnie talking about Elijah. Matt gives Caroline the cold shoulder. They really need to give him a reason to still be on the show.
Tyler to Jules. And Brady and Stevie. Brady wants the moonstone. The stone will break the curse of the sun and the moon. Vamps break it, they can be out in sunlight but wolves need full moon. Wolves break it, vamps only at night and wolves can turn when they want. Jules points out they’d never need to turn if they didn’t want to. Stevie knows about the stone needing the doppelganger, and figures Mason’s friend “Kathy” knows about it. Tyler recognizes the pic of Katherine as Elena.
Matt still cold to Caroline. She wants to make things better between them. He tells her he knows she lied. Caroline looks upset.
Tyler crashes into Caroline and he says they need to talk, but Caroline refuses to speak to him. Matt tells Ty to stop lying about what’s going on with him and Caroline.
Stefan and Elena leaving for a road trip. Caroline texts, but tells Elena to have fun. Oh, Tyler stole Caroline’s phone, so now he and the wolves know where Elena is going to be.
Elena and Stefan at the lake house. She’s getting all sentimental about it, but she’s okay.
Stefan is stuck outside, but Elena can’t invite him in because the house was left to John. Wait, she was just messing with him. They make out.
Elijah schmoozing at the town tea party (wtf?). Jenna is there. Elijah and Damon meet. Tensely.
Jeremy to Caroline as Bonnie flirts with Luka. Bonnie drugged his drink (or something!)
Elena and Stefan all couply on the dock. Gag. Elena talks about the future. Stefan says there are a lot of conversations they need to have about the future. Stefan is so adorable! Gah!
John Gilbert talking to Alaric at the tea. Threatens to tell Jenna about Alaric’s “extracurricular activities.” He also wants his ring back.
Elijah and Damon. Elijah is extremely unamused by Damon and breaks his hand. Stabs him with a pencil. Elijah says he’ll kill him when he becomes useless to him. Tells him to keep Elena safe.
Stefan and Elena, Stefan cooking. They are too adorable and it’s rotting my teeth. Elena gets nostalgic about her mom. Then there’s more making out.
Ah, fortunately Stefan realizes the wall is hollow, so we don’t have to watch more tonsil hockey. Behind the wall is a door. Stefan busts the lock. The hidden room is full of weapons.
Bonnie, Caroline, and Jeremy doing a spell on Luka, to put him in a trance so he’ll answer questions. Caroline picks up on Jeremy’s vibe for Bonnie, and supports it.
Alaric and Damon. Alaric likes Elijah’s hair, even though he thinks he’s scary. Alaric doesn’t want Damon to kill the news reporter. Alaric hates lying to Jenna. So are Alaric and Damon gay for each other now? They have a nice camaraderie together and if I had some free time I’d probably ship them as friends with benefits or something.
Alaric stabbed by someone. Damon injected with something by same someone. There’s a struggle. Wait, did they really kill Alaric? Was that all the wolves?
Also in the room with Elena is the rest of the Gilbert journals. And other crap.
Brady and Tyler, Tyler not looking so good. Brady talks about the vamps being the enemy, and that them breaking the curse will lead to all the wolves’ deaths. Then he makes a threat against Ty if he wusses out.
Jenna and John Gilbert, arguing about her care of Elena. John hints about Isobel.
Eek, Damon all trussed up and bloody. Alaric all not moving. Dude torturing Damon. Jules wants the moonstone.
Back to the witch circle. Bonnie interrogates Luka. They want Klaus dead, too. Because he has “her.” His sister. To undo the curse without the doppelganger. If they help Elijah kill Klaus, he’ll return the sister. Luka terrified to tell them how to kill an original. After the sacrifice Klaus will be vulnerable. Elena must die.
Stefan in the shed. Brady shoots him with a dart. Tells Tyler to kill him if he moves. I’m totally making this face right now: D:
Stefan asks Tyler to help him get the bullet out of his heart. Tyler says he’s lying about not wanting to break the curse. Doesn’t want to be a wolf forever. Stefan tells him that in order to break the curse, Elena has to die.
Elena gets suspicious of Stefan’s absence. And grabs a knife. And uses it to stab the dude by the door! Go Elena! (Brady? It’s dark.)
He says he can smell her and she takes off her overshirt. Then sneaks back downstairs. But slams the door shut? She lures him into being stabbed again. She’s pretty darn crafty. She runs outside and Stefan finishes the job of killing him.
Tyler is there, and apologizes, saying he didn’t know what they were gonna do to her. Aww, they hug.
Jules torturing Damon some more. Elijah is there with the moonstone. Wolf goes for it and Elijah kills him. And two more. Elijah kills Stevie. Then frees Damon. Elijah points out it’s the third time he’s saved Damon’s life. And walks off with the moonstone.
Damon talking to Bonnie on the phone, about Elijah’s plan to kill Elena after all.
Alaric comes to! Yay! I’d be so upset if he were killed off! He calls Jenna, lies horribly, and feels really guilty.
Damon tells Stefan to keep Elena away for a little while longer. Stefan tells Elena that Elijah plans for Elena to die. Stefan is confused that she knew she wasn’t going to survive. He’s upset that she was talking about their future plans yet doesn’t expect to have one. Accuses her of being a martyr. He’s pissed because he’s already lived a life, but her dying so young would be tragic.
Bonnie and Jeremy. Caroline driving Luka back to the Grille. Bonnie tells Jeremy he’s hot and sweet. They smooch. Oh gag me now.
Tyler’s mom, with a note left for her from Tyler. Who goes to Matt. Tells him Caroline has been helping him through something and he fell for her. But that she loves Matt and needs him. Tells him to be good to her.
Caroline’s house. Tyler outside, but he doesn’t talk to her.
Tyler drives away with Jules. Tells her if he goes with her, no more lies. She agrees. Tells her he can’t stay in Mystic Falls.
Aww. :(
Sad episode is sad, even though good episode is good. But too much smooching overall.
Next week: Stefan tells Elena about his bloody past relative to the Gilberts.
