Back from hiatus!
What’s-her-name-the-werewolf wakes up naked and covered in blood. Apparently she ate some campers, and now she’s trying to clear the mess. A ranger shows up. She fakes seeing a wolf eat her friends. Then she kills the ranger.
Elena to Stefan. Hello, shirtless Stefan. They are all smoochy. Then they talk about Elena’s deal with Elijah. Stefan drinks vervane to build up a tolerance. Elena needs to talk to Isobel.
Rose and Damon. She’s 560 years old. Damon points out legends are unreliable, so she shouldn’t worry about the bite. The wound is really nastily infected.
Ah, town gathering in the form of a barbecue. Ty and Caroline are there. They are kinda cute. Caroline tells him about the werewolf bite legend. Matt interrupts them. He smooches her. She freaks out.
Jules the werewolf talks to the Sheriff. Alaric calls Damon. Stefan asks Alaric about Isobel.
Elena is in Damon’s room for the first time, putting Rose to bed. Rose says deal with Elijah is Elena’s easiest option, not necessarily the best. Rose becomes delusional. Wait, now she’s lucid. Drinks blood and chokes. Rose clams Elena into the wall and says something I can’t make out.
Ah, Rose thought the she Katherine.
Stefan calls Isobel’s number and leaves a message. Damon goes to talk to Jules, to learn how to cure a wolf bite. She refuses and tells him just to kill her. Stefan receives a call.
Back to Elena and Rose, and Rose has disappeared. Rose is in the dungeon, gorging on blood. She attacks Elena, and Elena burns her with sun. She barricades herself in Stefan’s room.
Elena arms herself with a stake and opens the curtains.
Caroline and Matt. He’s all upset she freaked about the kiss. She tells him she loves him. Then she disappears.
Elena opens the door and leaves the room. She’s spooked but it’s only Damon.
And now it’s nighttime for the barbecue. Rose is nearby, puking. Kind man tries to help her and she bites him.
Damon talking to the Sheriff at the barbecue. It’s kinda funny watching them team up to fight vampires again since Caroline wiped her memory.
Rose kills two more before Damon stops her. She begs Damon to make it stop, and she never meant to hurt anyone.
BTW where’s Bonnie?
Back in Damon’s room, after some talking, Rose convulses in pain as Damon tries to comfort her.
Tyler waiting for Caroline. He wants to know why Caroline risked getting bitten. She says he needed help. She apologizes for caring, and he shuts her up by kissing her. She kisses back but then pulls away and tells him not to do that. “Everyone just needs to stop kissing me!”
Rose dreams of her home, and Damon is there. She misses being human. Eventually she says she isn’t afraid to die. Ah, he’s controlling the dream. And in real life he stakes her. And cries. :(
Damon presents the vampire (Rose) to the Sheriff.
Jules and Tyler. She tells Tyler she knows about him, Mason, and Caroline, and that Mason is dead. She tells him that Caroline helped kill Mason, and that there are bunches of other vamps in town. And that other werewolves are on their way.
Elena and Damon. She tries to comfort him, and he’s in denial. He tells her that feeling sucks. And that Jules was coming after him.
Where the hell is Stefan? I guess we haven’t seen him since he received his phone call.
Elena hugs Damon, and he looks all sad.
Ah, Stefan is at Elena’s house. Rather than Isobel, Stefan brings back Elena’s Uncle John.
Woman comes across Damon laying in the road. He’s drunk. He compels her not to move. He says he can’t be what other people—“she”—wants him to be. He misses being not human more than anything in the world, and there’s only so much hurt a man can take. He lets her go, then kills her.
Next week, Ty locks up Caroline, John causes problems for Elena.
Not the most exciting ep, actually kind of a downer. Realized right now we didn’t see Jeremy either. He and Bonnie run off together? Maybe next week will be more exciting.
