Medium series finale
Does anyone else watch Medium? I haven't always watched it regularly, but I really enjoy Joe and Allison's dynamic, and the girls.
I have just a comment on the finale (spoilers)...
Did it depress the hell out of anyone else?
I mean, holy shit, let's just a) kill off Joe b) tease you that he's okay c) have Allison realize she was only fooling herself subconsciously d) have Allison spend the rest of her life alone and e) finally kill her off alone.
Why spend so much time on the fake court case? If you *have* to kill off Joe, which you *don't*, why not show him in good times, or saying goodbye to his daughters, maybe some of the happy times in those 41 years?
What kind of finale kills off the show's two main characters? Not every episode of the show over the years has been uplifting and positive, but I always wanted to watch the show again, unlike now. I know the characters' futures, and can't erase the bleak parts.
Totally unnecessary. The show didn't need a happy-feely-warmsquishygross ending, but geez, it would have been nice to have an ending that felt like it mattered, that there was something else for the characters to do afterwards other than be dead.
If it were a movie I'd want my money back.

There was no reason not to write a different story, one that could be sad or thinky or whatever but still not have the two main characters dead, just to "connect" again on the other side. If you don't kill them, they don't need to be connected yet on the other side!!
I wasn't sure if that was a phone or some sort of recorder, that maybe she was listening to an old message. It's just extra depressing that she was alone.
