TVD 2.11
Quite a doozy!
Poor Tyler watching Mason’s video of his first transformation. Calls Mason but we all know he’s never going to answer. Some woman is listening in on the message.
Bonnie and Elena talking about the moonstone and Klaus and Stefan in the tomb. Jeremy interrupts and Bonnie leaves. Jeremy wants to know why Elena is on a suicide mission, she plays the “so everyone else lives” card.
Elena tries to leave with the moonstone. Bonnie has put up a forcefield so she can’t leave the house.
Damon tells Stefan Elena is trapped. Brings Stefan candles, lanterns, and blood, which he refuses. Stefan knows Katherine will want to share.
Ty ducks his mom, but the woman listening to Mason’s message is at the door. Tells them Mason isn’t in Florida.
Jenna and Alaric. They’re cute together.
Tyler tells Caroline that Mason has disappeared. Alaric watches them.
Damon just walks into Elena’s house. Damon is such a sarcastic bastard and I love him. Damon didn’t tell Stefan Elijah is still alive. Heh, Damon referred to Caroline as “Vampire Barbie.”
Alaric tells Damon Mason is officially a missing person.
Tyler and Caroline at the ruins.
Mason’s friend is named Jules. She calls someone to tell them Mason is missing, and that Tyler is indeed another wolf.
Alaric and Damon scoping out Jules. Damon has wolfsbane.
Tyler fixing up his chains. Caroline has wolfsbane for him. Tyler strips down. Yowza.
Bonnie to Luka. He’s pissed Bonnie channeled him. But he lets her in. He shows her grimoires his dad has collected. Bonnie asks if knows how to break a spell from a talisman.
Alaric pretends to be drunk and hit on Jules. Damon enters on the other side, and Alaric mixes wolfsbane into her drink. But she doesn’t drink.
Katherine and Stefan, her explaining how much not eating sucks. He just wants her to suffer. Katherine hits on him and takes off her dress. She gets physical with him and he responds. Oh, wait, it was a dream Katherine sent him.
Elena and Jenna, Jenna talking about the historical society.
And then Eljiah is in their house.
Jenna let him in because he’s pretending to do research on Mystic Falls. What a creepy bastard.
Damon still chatting with Jules. She still hasn’t taken a drink. Damon admits he knows Mason but doesn’t give more info when Jules asks how.
Tyler wrapped in chains while Caroline keeps him company. He drinks the wolfsbane and gags, and pushes Caroline away when she tries to help.
Elijah and Elena. Elijah doesn’t want to break the curse, says Klaus is a paranoid recluse. Elena deducts Elijah doesn’t know where Klaus is. Wants to offer Elena a deal—she lives and stops fighting, until Elijah wants to bring her to Klaus to draw him out to kill him (?). Suggests Bonnie and his witches can protect everyone. Elena negotiates but the scene cuts to Bonnie and Luka.
They are on a rooftop and surrounded by candles. Luka doesn’t recognize the moonstone, and Bonnie doesn’t tell him what spell is attached to it. They do the spell, moonstone rises into the air and shatters into sparks.
Back to Ty, who is in pain. We see his arm break and reform.
Damon still with Jules. He keeps trying to get her to drink. She slams the glass down after she looks more closely at it. She knows he’s a vampire.
Ty and Caroline again. Now his back is reforming. Caroline refuses to leave.
Alaric tries to talk sense into Damon about letting Jules go.
Caroline tries to keep Ty calm as he turns more wolfy, but she’s freaked and finally locks the door of the cell. She leaves the cellar entirely as Ty continues to change. This is really gruesome, watching his bones break and reform. He’s broken through the cell and through the cellar door entirely! Caroline runs farther.
Damon gets home, senses something is amiss. Rose is there. She wants to apologize, and admits she had nowhere else to go.
Glass shatters. There’s snarling. It’s a wolf and it bites Rose! Then it leaves. The wound heals.
Luka looking pretty happy. His dad asks if he was successful. They were putting one over on Bonnie. Luka gives the moonstone to his dad. Luka doesn’t sound too pleased with himself.
Katherine and Stefan. We’re back to her loving Stefan. Stefan wants her to prove it. Katherine says he’ll hate her, and he says maybe it’ll give him hope for her. Katherine says she can help them find Klaus—suggests they start with Isobel’s research.
Elijah arrives at the tomb. Enjoys that they are frightened. Says Elena wishes them to be freed. Elijah has had the spell lifted. Stefan walks out. Elijah compels Katherine to stay put until Klaus comes. Katherine pleads to not be left, but Stefan walks away.
Back to Caroline. Wow, there’re so many stories tonight! She’s walking around the woods, and returns to the cellar. The door has holes, but isn’t broken. Tyler is inside, curled up and shivering. She says he’s okay and he made it, but he says he isn’t.
Stefan goes to Elena. Happy smoochy reunion.
Damon and Rose talk about the werewolf, figure it was Jules. Rose offers to stay and help protect Elena. Because she likes Damon. Just friends. Okay, special friend. Rubs her shoulder and the wolf bite is totally infected.
This ep wasn't as exciting as other cliffhangery episodes, but they had a lot to wrap up and move on with.
No new vampires until January 27th!

I'm interested to see where they go with her character because she seems more knowledgeable about werewolves than Mason was. And she seems kind of bad ass, especially because you have to kill someone to be a full werewolf. Plus someone needs to stand up to Damon. Ian's eye twitches are getting annoying. But this episode's amount of Alaric was awesome. Totally love the Damon/Alaric buddy comedy they always have going on.

It's funny how she thought "proving" she loved Stefan by starting to talk about Isobel and Klaus should have gotten her saved by Stefan. Yeah, he's a good guy and all, but I don't think that level of good can overcome Katherine's level of selfishness and badness. But I'm happy their sexy scene from the previews was only her getting into his head because I would never see Stefan the same way again if he had actually done that. I was happy to see him get back together with Elena at the end of the episode.

Damon/Alaric friendship FTW! They really do work well together.
Stefan/Katherine is gross. I don't know why she's so obsessed with him, and there's no way he's into her at all. I hadn't seen the previews so I didn't see their little scene, but I have to admit I was booing Stefan while it happened.
The Stefan/Elena reunion was really sweet.
