Um, okay.

You go on believing that.

Though the article does include this sentence:

Gay porn actors are almost always handsome, but ... most heterosexual couples don’t get off with the Brokeback thing.

Don't some of you have partners who buy/rent your gay porn for you?

And since the article focuses on women watching porn, what does the "couple" part of the relationship matter? The article isn't about porn a het couple can watch together and both enjoy.

The article does have good points, but I think it really missed the mark overall.

Er… I know a few women in fandom whose partners buy gay porn for them. It's not all about the guy, y'know.

People seem to forget that. I've seen enough programs talking about how bad it is when a guy is addicted to porn, but no one ever mentions women just watching it recreationally. And obviously plenty of them do!

I admit to only doing a quick read through, but also looks like that have a rather narrow definition of what qualifies as "porn." I wonder if the author has ever seen some yaoi doushinji.

That too--they seem to only be counting as "porn" straight couples (the woman being a bottle blonde with fake breasts) on video. I think the point of the article was that women don't watch video porn (which is untrue) but they could have mentioned that there is plenty out there that is pornographic that women do engage in. Ridiculous article.

Once I finished the first page, I was worried they weren't going to get to the degrading aspect of heterosexual porn, which is the reason I rarely watch it, but thankfully they talked about that. I'd rather watch gay porn where I don't feel like anyone's being grossly violated.

But yeah it's stupid to think women don't watch porn by themselves.

There's definitely a level of het porn where it's just not even a little hot, when the woman is clearly just a thing. If more straight porn actors were hot and there were fewer facials, het porn would have a lot more female viewers.

I don't understand why women watching porn by themselves wasn't even mentioned!
