Bad call ruins perfect game
It's impossible to even understand how that Detroit pitcher missed out on a perfect game.
As the Yankee commentator said, it's "unfathomable."
26 batters up, and the 27th gets an infield hit due to a bad call.
BAD CALL.
The runner was out by a step, not, like, an inch or a blink.
Horrible, horrible, horrible.
I know umpires are human. And humans are fallible. But this is inexcusable.
Details and video here. Listen to the commentators--they're in shock.
Soon afterwards an umpire in the Yankee game got hit by a line drive while standing in center field. ...humans are capable of movement, right? How slow are these guys' reflexes?

I think if it had been me, I probably would've gotten thrown out for beating up the umpire.

Though it does beg the question how does one remove a baseball mitt that's been shoved down one's throat?

I haven't even had time to watch baseball lately. I did watch part of the Cardinals' game from the casino bar tonight, LOL.

But I love this tweet from "Darth Vader's" Twitter account:
darthvader: Tarkin just sent off Imperial recruitment papers to Umpire Jim Joyce. That guy's got moxie.

The league stepping in would definitely be a good thing for baseball. The pitcher was gifted a new Corvette, which I'm sure helps, but still.
I love that Twitter quote! It's so true though!
