Selfish?
I've mentioned that I have to do this group video project.
I neglected to mention that one of the girls in my group has never done a video project. Ever. What the hell she's doing at this school, I have no idea (it's kinda a specific school for that sort of thing).
Tonight we're going to meet. I got a call around 6 to tell me to meet at a certain place at 7:30.
There are two things wrong with this.
a) The meeting place other two girls chose is about an hour away for me by public transportation. So, that means I would have pretty much had to drop everything and go to ensure that I wouldn't be late. Of course, I had just gotten out of the shower, so I wasn't entirely put together, and I was also in the middle of washing dishes so that I would have something to eat dinner on.
b) One of the other group members doesn't even get out of *work* until 8, so there would have been more than a half hour of discussion about tomorrow's taping without her there. Since she's the only one of us with production experience, I really think that she should be there.
But I mean, how totally inconsiderate is that? They *know* I don't have a car. And they *know* it takes an hour or more to get there. So, I told them to make it later, and the meeting got bumped to 8:15. As it is, just taking time to check my email and write this at the halfway point is going to make me a few minutes late.
And the one orchestrating the meeting wanted to meet someplace more public than her apartment, where we've met twice, and the fourth girl's apartment, where we met twice. So, she picks a place down the street from her fucking house. Why not in the middle? I think she sensed I was annoyed with the choice because she offered to meet near me, but everyone already knows how to get to her place, and only she and I know how to get to mine.
Everyone's been making sacrifices, but, come on. That original meeting time was just cruel.
Now, I'm going to to go sprint for the train so that I'm not totally late. Just wanted to share.
