American Dad

American Dad was all so totally about masturbation.

Stan, the dad, has never masturbated before, and he tells his 14 year old son that it's evil and I believe he refers to it as "playing a solo on the Devil's clarinet." But then he injures his shaft , and through a miscommunication, he inadvertently rubs lotion on himself in a sufficient enough way to bring himself off.

He then spends the next several days doing nothing but jerking off. He even goes to the 'Bates Motel (notice the apostrophe) to try to cure himself because he's horrified at what he's doing, yet he can't stop. He strokes off to a sketch of the Statue of Liberty and her clingy dress, and his son catches him.

They form an alliance to take down television, which Stan blames for his sons "urges." He takes everything off the air but a show of himself spouting conservative Christian values. Then his wife finally founds out about what's been going on, is horrified, and tells Stan to set their son straight so he doesn't wind up all screwed up like he is. Then, on live television, Stan gives an explicitly detailed lecture to his son, including talk about positions and something that requires a towel (tactfully cut off from our hearing).

It was really a very funny episode, if a little disturbing. I just can't understand boys who don't masturbate (one of my friends was friends with a guy like that). Girls are one thing, they don't have this good-sized thing begging them to pull on it all the time. The general concept of masturbation is amusing, but when it's brought to attention like this, it's even more so.

In other news, I really liked tonight's House. No one was overly annoying, it was funny, House had some good slashy digs, and Stacy wasn't in it. I was a bit upset we didn't see the clinic patient again- it might have been amusing to see what else House would have to say to him.
