Bat-art

*waves to all manip artists and other types*

Proof that you can take your homoerotic superhero art and make a living as an artist:

Mark Chamberlain's Batman and Robin paintings- click for a bigger image.

This one wasn't on that other page for some reason- I want there to be a fic for this one.

Personally I think Bruce is sexier when he's wearing the full costume with the cowl pushed back, rather than wearing pieces of the uniform.

And I've seen fan art better than these paintings, and it's sad that not everyone can profit off his or her talents. And if not "profit," at least have a gallery show.

For example, this Tim/Kon piece by [livejournal.com profile] goss is beautiful.

ETA: Not work/kids safe! Sorry, should have posted that last night. *hopes kids didn't get an eyeful*

Yeah, his work is interesting mostly for the subject matter, next to Goss, who's so totally talented.

I've never seen it in person, there was just a link from www.superdickery.com (even though the webmaster there insists that Batman isn't gay). The painting skill itself doesn't impress me too much, but I find the paintings interesting just for the subject matter, too. Though I think Robin's hotpants look even sillier in the paintings than in the comics. And Bruce wearing just the cowl is somehow kinda creepy.

And I love that picture by Goss. It rocks.
