Weird movies

You ever watch a movie that seems like it was supposed to be about one thing, but that one thing becomes a subplot?

For example: Octopus. Even though it's called "Octopus," it feels more like the movie was supposed to be about the foreign espionage (or whatever was going on) storyline. And then as the film went to editing, someone decided, "Hey! Let's throw in a giant octopus! Just for the heck of it!" And then, because the director was on crack, he said, "Sure! Why the hell not?! Then it'll all make even less sense! Score!!"

And this movie on Sci-Fi right now, Epicenter. I remember watching it with my mom when it was first on, and the two of us thought, "What in the heck does this spy-man dude have to do with an earthquake?" (Okay, my mom never says "dude," but you get the point) Forty-five minutes in, and no earthquake yet. Is it even about an earthquake? I can't remember. And if not, then why is it called "Epicenter"? Why is it even on Sci-Fi? Unless it's got aliens, robots, future dystopia, or radioactive animals, it's a stretch to call something science fiction.

And I just watched American Psycho. Bought the DVD a couple weeks ago. Naked Christian Bale running around. Mmmm, sexy. "What am I supposed to do with that? Floss with it?"

Aaron, I love you for sitting me down in March and making me watch your favorite movie, even if I think it's a little weird how obsessed it has made you over Christian Bale, and you insist you're not gay. Or even bi.

But I'm still jealous you look better in that one corset of mine than I do. ;)

I think I'm going to change my journal's colors. Just a warning.
